Buccaneer Beach - Oceanside, CA

From the ongoing series of slow-shutter water photography titled, Innerspace. It’s often wondered, “Is this art work a painting or a photograph?” The answer is - yes.

The Innerspace series explores the realm where the ocean meets the sky. Rather than blasting off to outer space, there is an exceptional level of awe within the reaches of the sea.

This photography style came about on my first trip to Bali, nearly ten years ago. The water was so clear, I couldn’t help but to open my eyes on every duck dive. During a sunset session, I could see the colorful clouds and vibrant sun from under the surface. I popped up to breathe and yew in excitement at the natural painting I had witnessed. From then on, I have continuously honed a way to capture and present the joy of those moments.
